About The Course

If you’ve been struggling with type 2 diabetes or prediabetes, I’d love to help! My name is Dr. Steve Rallis and I have developed an online nutrition program based upon my published clinical research working with diabetic patients as a naturopathic doctor.

In this course, I’m going to teach you how to eat to improve your blood sugar. Which means what to eat, when to eat, and how much to eat.  

Based upon my clinical experience, most of the diabetic patients I’ve worked with are eating in a way, this is quite frankly -making them worse. This may be true for you. And, what’s crazy about this is that most of these patients are following what they believe to be, a pretty healthy diet. It’s not like they’re over-indulging in junk food!

Food, in my opinion, should taste great -and this program is designed to be a positive lifestyle change. But beyond that, eating as a diabetic has to accomplish two very specific goals -and -if, through modifying your diet you hit these two targets, significant changes can occur to both weight and blood sugar. 

Like anything in life, it’s hard to know if you’re winning if you don’t know the score, or worse, can’t read the scoreboard. In this course, I’m going to teach you how to keep score- meaning how to interpret or read a cholesterol test to make sure that you’re getting better. 

I’ll teach you which marker of blood sugar, I believe is the most important for measuring diabetes and what target you need to be striving for. I’ll also share with you, a whole array of tools and resources to ensure you’re making consistent progress towards better blood sugar!

Why does diabetes progressively get worse for so many? The answer is simpler than you might think! This lesson explores exactly what makes the diabetic metabolism so unique and a unique solution to this dilemma.

Introducing the Ketogenic Diet
Present dietary guidelines are recommending nutritional strategies that may be inadvertently aggravating your disease. This lesson explores the dietary strategy used to shift diabetics from the impaired sugar-burning fuel system to a more efficient fat-burning fuel system.

What  are the constituents of a healthy ketogenic diet for diabetes?  There is almost no limit to the types of meals you can create that will bring your blood sugar into balance.

Healthy protein sources for diabetes
The goal with dietary lifestyle is to drive fat up, while driving carbs down.  Which protein sources are ideal at doing this?  Both animal and vegetarian sources of protein are explored.
Lesson 6: 
The "right" carbs for diabetes
Plant-based foods form the basis for most healthy lifestyles, including this one! Learning to fill your plate with the right carbs, while eliminating the wrong carbs is a key to diabetic success!
Lesson 7: 
Fat, the ultimate fuel source for diabetes
Shifting the metabolism away from sugar-burning to fat-burning is a key component of this program.  Learning how to choose the right fats to get maximize success and improve health is the key to this lesson! 
Lesson 8: 
Foods you absolutely NEED to avoid
With diabetes, the systems necessary to process sugars or carbs are already broken. Diabetic guidelines call for at least 130 grams per day, or about 2 full plates of pasta. How is that going to work for a diabetic when the system is broken?
Lesson 9: 
The 2 key targets for diabetes
Eating as a diabetic has to accomplish two very specific goals.  If these targets are hit, the likelihood of success goes up!  Both targets are explored in detail in this lesson as markers for improving blood sugar through diet.
